President of CSO meets with UNICEF Resident Representative in Yemen

Today, President of the Central Statistics Organization, Dr. Safa Mautee discussed, with the Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator for the United Nations in our country, Ms. Iman Al-Shanqiti and the accompanying delegation ways of a cooperation between the two sides in many aspects.
The meeting, which included the Deputy Director of the OCHA Office in Aden, Ms. Rosaria Bruno, discussed a number of issues of common interest, most notably population estimates and the importance of starting a census of the population, housing and facilities .The meeting also discussed modern technologies used in monitoring population data and coming up with a comprehensive population framework that can be relied upon in field statistics and development, economic and social planning.
Both agreed to form a technical working group from both parties in addition to the relevant authorities to agree on the methodology of population estimates and work on it during the coming period.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Technician of Central Statistics Organization, Ms. Susan Saeed Mohammed, Mohammed Abdul Bari Ahmed Mohammed, an official in the Coordination Department of OCHA Aden, Philip Tangerman, a representative of the International Office for Migration, and Zakaria Saeed Jama Hori, a representative of the Office of the Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator.
Ibrahim Haddad, an information officer at OCHA, Sasha, an OCHA representative, and Majed Al-Sarihi, a representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), also attended online.
