President of Central Statistical Organization  Meets a Delegation from European Union and OECD to Discuss Developing the Economic Resilience Enhancement Program in Yemen

Wednesday morning ,The President of the Central Statistical Organization met , , at the organization’s headquarters in( Aden) with a delegation from the European Union and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This meeting, held within the framework of the Economic Resilience Enhancement Project in Yemen, focused on discussing ways to develop its programs during the next phase.

During the Meeting the steps planned for building the capacity of the Central Statistical Organization were reviewed, following the success of the project’s first phase. The new phase will focus on supporting the organization with experts in economic matters, in addition to strengthening the capacity of its human resources and developing the national statistical system through the national statistical team established by PARIS21 and the OECD, with the aim of improving the quality of data issued by the organization.

The meeting was attended by Irina Zissimus

Head of Economic Cooperation Programs, and Martin Dormel-Head of the Yemen Office at the European Commission in Brussels, representing the European Union. Also present from the OECD were Raffaele Trabasso, Director of Regional and Strategic Cooperation, Mohamed Baraka, and Sima Al-Farra.

Representing Central Statistical Organization were Eng. Hassan Ibrahim and Eng. Ru’a Hassan Zain.

This meeting comes within the framework of joint efforts to strengthen the national statistical infrastructure and support economic stability through accurate and up-to-date data that contributes to improved planning and decision-making in Yemen.
