Today, at the general office of Central Statistics Organization in the capital, Aden, a training course was inaugurated for employees of the population and social statistics sector in updating population projections based on the results of the MICS6 multi-indicator cluster survey, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and in coordination with the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics, which is presented by Mr. Samir Khudair Hadi Al-Qaisi , the census and demographic statistics expert in Iraq .
At the inauguration of the course program, the president of Central Statistics Organization , Dr. Safa Abdullah Mautee , gave a speech in which she was gratitude for the United Nations Population Fund, that is the CSO’s primary supporter in building its capabilities. She also appreciated the great cooperation from the General Director of the Arab Institute for Training and Statistical Research, Prof. Dr. Hadi Al-Saeedi, and also thanked Mr. Samir for his training for employees.
She spoke to the attendees, explaining to them that this course aims to build their capabilities, and that they will undergo evaluation, wishing them to benefit from the course topics and attendance in order to achieve the desired goals, as it will later fall on their responsibility to train the employees of CSO’s branches in the governorates as well as she wished everyone success.
She explained that there are many training courses that will be coordinated with Prof. Dr. Hadi Al-Saidi to build the capabilities of CSO’s employees in various fields.
Prof. Dr. Hadi Al-Saidi gave a speech in which he explained the importance of updating projections from household surveys in light of the fact that the population census has not been conducted for a long period until a new census is conducted as well as, he praised the existing coordination between the institute and the agency to build the capabilities of the employees of Central Statistics Organization and wished everyone success.
