The Secretary-General of the Local Council, Mahdi Mohammed Al-Hamid, launched this morning the training course organized by the Media Office of Abyan Governorate and the Central Statistics Organization of Abyan Governorate under the title “Disaster Risk Reduction and Early Warning” and under the patronage of Major General Abu Bakr Hussein Salem, Governor of Abyan Governorate, with the participation of 14 trainees.
During the course, the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Mahdi Mohammed Al-Hamid, stressed the importance of the course in building the capabilities and skills of the employees of the Central Statistics Organization in disaster risks and early warning.
Praising the efforts of Dr. Yasser Baazab, Director of the Media Office of Abyan Governorate and the specialized trainer in the field of disaster risk reduction and early warning, for his efforts in qualifying and training official agencies and civil society and acquiring skills in the field of disaster risk reduction and early warning. Emphasizing the support for the efforts of the Central Statistics Organization in Abyan Governorate and overcoming all difficulties.
On the other hand, Dr. Yasser Baazab, Director General of Media and course trainer, and Ms. Wedad Omar, Director of the Central Statistics Organization, gave two speeches in which they expressed the importance and objectives of the course, which comes within the framework of the partnership agreement and strengthening joint work.
They thanked the interaction of the leadership of the local authority in the governorate, represented by the Governor of the Governorate, Major General Abu Bakr Hussein Salem, and the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Mahdi Muhammad Al-Hamid, with the course program.
The course continues for two days, which the participants receive from the specialized trainer in the field of disaster risk reduction and early warning, Dr. Yasser Baazab, a number of presentations and training programs that enable them to implement them practically on the ground.
