Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak directed the Central Statistics Organization to activate its role and responsibilities in collecting data, producing indicators, and advancing its statistical role. This is considered one of the most important factors for the success of planning work and sound decision-making, and to present these indicators to Yemen’s partners and donors to assist in identifying and evaluating interventions.<\/span><\/h5>\n
On Tuesday, Prime Miniter with Central Statistics Organization’s President in the capital, Aden, emphasized on the importance of data and information in making sound decisions and developing realistic plans. He emphasized on coordination with Yemen’s partners from donor countries and organizations to support CSO’s capabilities in building a comprehensive statistical database for economic and social development indicators and national accounts, and in implementing field surveys, including household budget (HBS) ,price surveys, economic &service surveys, and poverty surveys. <\/span><\/h5>\n
Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak obligated the relevant ministries and agencies to cooperate with Central Statistics Organization, as the official ,authorized agency, under applicable laws, to collect statistical data and conduct censuses and surveys, to provide a reliable reference for data that keeps pace with current changes, He also pointed out that CSO is the sole authority for implementing any surveys or data collection, which requires the cooperation and commitment of local, UN, and international organizations operating in Yemen.<\/span><\/h5>\n
During the meeting, Dr. Safaa Mautee, President of Central Statistics Organization, presented a report on CSO’s progress, the projects it has implemented, the reports it has issued, and its future plans, including conducting a comprehensive census of the population, housing, and establishments, especially since the last population projection according to the 2004 census will be this year ,she also highlighted aspects of cooperation between CSO, government agencies, and UN and international organizations, and proposed ways to enhance coordination to achieve CSO’s goals of providing reliable statistical reference data.<\/span><\/h5>\n
