CSO President and UNHCR Yemen Representative Discuss Data Collaboration for Sustainable Development and IDP Solutions

Dr. Safa Abdullah Mautee, President of Yemen’s Central Statistics Organization (CSO), met with Mr. Marin Kajdomcaj, UNHCR Representative in Yemen, and Mr. Mohammed Rafiq Nasry, Head of UNHCR’s Aden Office, to discuss strengthening data collaboration to support sustainable development and durable solutions for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Dr. Mautee presented the “Sustainable Development Goals Indicators Report in Yemen 2024,” emphasizing the role of accurate data in shaping policies aligned with Yemen’s SDGs. She highlighted CSO’s commitment to transparency and the need for joint efforts with UNHCR to enhance data for effective IDP support.
Mr. Kajdomcaj expressed UNHCR’s dedication to supporting CSO’s initiatives, particularly in data collection and capacity building, to improve responses for IDPs and host communities.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to explore further joint initiatives for statistical infrastructure and aligned efforts to meet Yemen’s development and humanitarian goals.
